What is it?

A Kipp’s Apparatus is a classic three-chambered glass instrument used for preparing small volumes of gases like Hydrogen Sulfide ($H_2S$), Carbon Dioxide ($CO_2$), or Hydrogen ($H_2$). It is designed to produce gas automatically when needed—simply by opening a stopcock—and to stop the reaction automatically when the stopcock is closed.
