The Moisture Determination Apparatus, commonly known as the Dean-Stark Apparatus, is a specialized laboratory assembly used to measure the water content in various materials like oils, petroleum products, and food samples. It works by heating the sample with an immiscible solvent; the water is distilled out, collected in a graduated trap, and measured precisely to determine the moisture percentage.

Complete Set Includes:

  • Round Bottom Flask: Heavy-duty boiling flask for even heating of the sample.
  • Dean-Stark Receiver/Trap: A graduated glass tube (with or without stopcock) for accurate volume measurement of the collected water.
  • Liebig Condenser: High-efficiency cooling tube to ensure all vapors are condensed and returned to the trap.
